Earth Angels Assisted Living & Home Care Services provides affordable, quality homecare to veterans, the elderly, those with special needs, new parents, or anyone requiring assistance at home, in hospital or in care facilities.
On September 1st 2004 Earth Angels Home Care Services opened it's doors in Truro, Nova Scotia. Co-owners Mark Spears and Hilton Attis, two long time associates, watched as their dream came true on that day. This dream has developed into one of the largest, most trusted non-medical homecare agencies in the Maritimes.
Mark Spears, the President of Earth Angels, is a Natural Medicine Practitioner with a Doctorate in Natural Medicine and a Masters Degree in Nutrition. He has operated the "Feel Well" Naturotherapy Clinic since 1997. He has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners Canada, in recognition of his ongoing support and contribution to Natural Medicine. Hilton Attis, formerly of Moncton New Brunswick, is the Vice President and General Manager of Earth Angels. He has received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax. He is a graduate of the Nova Scotia Alzheimer's & Related Dementia Care course. Hilton has several years of experience in the service & hospitality industries from both administrative and management positions.
Anyone who has met Mark or Hilton has experienced their caring and compassionate ways. Their dream was to establish a trusted, compassionate and affordable service to help people to maintain their dignity and independence, whether it be at home, in hospital or in a care facility. Both have a strong desire to help and they do genuinely care about people.
In his clinic, Mark witnessed, everyday, the need for this type of service. Many people, including the elderly and those with special needs, are not able to prepare a nutritious meal or do other things that the rest of us take for granted. He interviewed many seniors who's diet consisted of toast and tea, either because they were not able to cook for themselves or because they were lonely and did not want to eat alone. They were malnourished. Many of them have no one to drive them to appointments or even a companion with whom to play a game of cards or share a story.
